OOOO...lots to do! We'd suggest extending your stay a bit! The next week is Santa Barbara's big Solstice celebration and there is so much to see in our area. On our to do list to fill this out! Sort of at the bottom of the list . . .
Butterfly Beach - I can't even believe we are divulging our favorite picnic spot. Little more intimate with a local feel although it can get crowded on the weekends.
Leadbetter - Ummm... well, not one of my favorite beaches but Shoreline Park above it is a really nice place for a stroll. Santa Barbara City College is across the way which actually has some WONDERFUL views along their bluffs.
Coal Oil Point - Nice rugged sort of feel! Surfers like this spot. GREAT for tidepooling.
Miramar - Another out of the way "quieter" beach although it is private property above the tide line. One of our favorite walks is from the Miramar to Butterfly Beach. Needs to be a lowish sort of tide for this to make it all the way without getting wet. Heading towards Sharks Cove is also a fun walk and at the end you'll enjoy a spot where only a FEW people pass by if any. Miramar point also has some nice tide pools.
East Beach - One of the closest beaches to the Festival. Great little bike path that runs along it you can also rollerblade on. Not much in the way of surf (but there isn't much surf in the summer here anyways)
There are TONS of great places to hike here in Santa Barbara. www.santabarbarahikes.com is an awesome Santa Barbara hiking resource that gives descriptions of the trails and directions for how to get there.
